Our stylist friends, Melissa De Leon and Carrie Lang, taught us a few things about intentionality and building the perfect transitional wardrobe this past week at their first styling event hosted within our storefront. Building a capsule wardrobe is a subjective process, containing pieces that suit your lifestyle, your "uniform" for day-to-day, while still maintaining an essence of personality and choice in the matter.
Here are a few pieces that Melissa and Carrie love and used to show how you can elevate your wardrobe for spring:
The Murph Jacket is one of those pieces that we can throw on any woman and it will be that effortless layer with almost any elevated casual look. The worn-in brown leather paired with the paneling and collared detail make this a staple in any wardrobe. We are obsessed with this jacket adding contrast to those light and airy tones of spring but also love this jacket as a transition into fall/winter. When I think of timeless pieces, I think of the Murph Jacket.
We styled the Zaire Top over graphic tees, with our new cropped trench coat, with denim, and with trousers. We loved hearing how women would style this for easy work looks while also hearing a woman say how excited she is to wear this during her pregnancy, being flow-y and can move with a growing preggy belly. This top also has a sister style in dress form with the same adjustable straps and cupro soft-touch feel.
The Cuffed Wide Leg is a simple and clean style that adds just enough texture and dimension to any simple look. These would easily elevate a simple white tee and jacket or clean and minimal sweater. We've been styling this with the Aeyla Top, loving the texture of the structured lace with the cuffed and clean denim.
The Kenz Jacket has been a personal favorite for a while but styling it for spring has caused a reawakening in my own styling sessions. We are obsessing over this with the camel trousers pictured here or with the new black trousers we have that have the perfect amount of slouch. Complete the look with loafers and sunnies to keep accessorizing low effort but high impact.
There's nothing that screams girl-on-the-go in spring more than a trench coat, especially one like the Estelle; versatile due to its length and its cinching capabilities. This jacket most definitely can be the outfit while also being the perfect layer to any spring look. We are loving this style as a layer to bring us into the crisp fall weather, too.
The Ivy Woven Bag's woven style adds just enough texture to a simple look, packs a punch with its olive color, and comes with another crossbody bag inside for even more versatility. During our styling event, this bag paired so well with the Estelle Cropped Jacket (above) and our new favorite SAT 90's Straight denim.
